Show Rules

Rules for all SLICS attendees, table holders, and display participants. Contact the organizer in advance about any item or arrangement you are unsure of.

2027 Show InformationMarch 24–27, 2027St. Louis, Missouri
These rules apply to everyone at the show.

Intentional or repeated violations may result in loss of tables or denial of entry. The show manager’s decision is final in disputes about items or the rules.

1. Follow applicable laws

All local, state, and federal laws, including tax laws, must be followed. Contact the organizer with questions about show requirements; government authorities determine legal requirements.

2. No smoking in show areas

Smoking is prohibited in the ballroom, at the ballroom entrance, and at the banquet and auction. Follow the hotel’s current smoking policy elsewhere on the property.

3. Firearms

No firearms of any kind, modern or antique, are allowed. The only exception is as part of a display with explicit advance permission from the show manager.

4. Ammunition & projectiles

No live explosive ammunition, projectiles, or fuses are allowed, regardless of caliber. There is no caliber limit on inert ammunition, including artillery projectiles.

All components of large-caliber or artillery items must be available for inspection. An “inert” marking alone is not sufficient; an item that cannot be fully inspected is not allowed. Contact the manager before bringing anything uncertain.

5. Grenades & other explosive devices

No live hand or rifle grenades are allowed. Permitted inert grenades must be available for complete inspection; an “inert” label alone does not establish acceptance.

No other explosive devices, live or inert, including blasting caps, are allowed.

6. Flares

Ammunition-related flares, including small-arms, shotshell-type, and small-caliber survival examples, are permitted. Railroad and traffic-control flares are not allowed. Contact the manager in advance about any unusual item.

7. Powder containers

Antique or modern powder cans of one pound or smaller must be factory sealed if they contain powder. Larger cans and wood kegs must be completely empty. Partial cans and loose powder are not allowed. Any exception requires advance approval.

8. Primer & percussion-cap tins

Primer tins and percussion-cap tins are allowed. If they contain primers or caps, all interior packing must be intact.

9. Fakes & reproductions

Fakes or reproductions intended to deceive are prohibited. Souvenir cartridges from collecting events and factory “chickens” are permitted because they are not intended to deceive.

Spurious bullet-tip colors and fabricated cartridges such as the so-called “thin rim” Winchester 70-150 are prohibited.

10. Security & responsibility

Each table holder is responsible for their own table security during show hours. During non-show hours, hotel security locks the halls and access is not permitted.

Show management assumes no liability. By attending as a table holder or guest, you agree to follow the show rules and terms.

11. Ask before bringing an uncertain item

Call or write in advance if an item is not clearly covered, requires inspection, or needs an exception. Obtain approval before arrival.
